Workforce Planning:
How Step 1 Fits

 

In this step, you’ll review your agency’s strategic goals, assess the workforce implications of those goals, and map out an implementation plan to build the workforce you need to accomplish your strategic objectives. The assessment and planning in Step 1 are key building blocks for the analysis and implementation you’ll do in later WFP steps.

  • Link your WFP process and goals to your agency’s strategic plan and objectives.
  • Develop an organizational structure that supports Workforce Planning.
  • Develop a WFP implementation Work Plan.
  • Develop a timeline for implementing your workforce plan.
  • Develop a communication plan for your WFP implementation.
